THE WINERY

OUR HISTORY

The La Boatina wine estate is located in Cormons, a jewel town of Habsburg mold, a few steps from Gorizia and the border with Slovenia.

The company takes its name from the toponym Boatina, once a small inhabited village
by peasant families who lived on agriculture and cattle breeding.

The La Boatina winery is located between the DOC Collio and Friuli DOC
Isonzo.

The vineyards are located in the Friuli DOC Isonzo, even if the soil has some
marked characteristics of the DOC Collio.

In particular, there is a high percentage of clay which gives a lot of structure and roundness to the wines.

In 1979, the Friulian entrepreneur Loretto Pali bought 8 hectares of land and over the decades continued to acquire the land adjacent to the company, carrying out an important work of agricultural arrangement, creating the best conditions for growing vines.

The modern cellar has recently been expanded with a new fermentation area for white wines.

And a huge investment was made for the purchase of a new bottling line and several stainless steel tanks managed by a state-of-the-art computerized temperature control system

Today the company consists of 60 hectares. The ancient village has been completely renovated:

from the old stables the last generation cellars have been obtained, while in the main house there is a cozy restaurant and a B&B with rooms, immersed in the quiet of the countryside.
